The Hale Page Diamond Lake Business Association Committee consists of both store-front and home-based businesses located in our neighborhood. Its members strive to enhance the presence and visibility of our neighborhood businesses and what they represent to our HPDL lifestyle and atmosphere. Together, the Business Association Committee is working to do great things for the businesses of HPDL!
2008-2009 Business Association Committee Goals:
- Implement the annual Neighborhood Treasure Hunt
- Participate in Picnic in the Park and other local events
- Form a voice for the business community in city affairs
- Do outreach with other business associations
- Do joint co-op advertising
- Increase membership
The
Business Association Committee welcomes your input
and your unique ideas! Join our committee as
we move forward in 2001 to reach our many goals. If
you own an HPDL business or know of someone who
does, we wants to hear from you. Other
benefits of membership include joint advertising paid for by the association, and your own web site. Annual membership for store-front businesses is only $50, and for home-based businesses is $25. Associate membership is $25.

Why "rabbithood.com?"

We used to be hpdlba.com, but that was too hard to remember. Besides, the rabbit you see in our rabbithood.com logo represents a 7 foot bronze rabbit that graces the gateway to our neighborhood at Portland avenue and Minnehaha Parkway, just downstream from the water pump. That's right. The HPDL Gateway Arts Committee chose artist Jeff Barber's bronze rabbit as our gateway sculpture because it is "whimsical and natural." The artist and committee members believe the rabbit will have broad appeal and that people will "connect" with it.
So we thought it would be fun to call our site rabbithood.com! HPDL staffer Rosie Doege gets credit for her creativity in coming up with this name.
Special thanks to the Minneapolis Arts Commission and Executive Secretary David Hanson for their support of this project.
About the artist
Jeff Barber sculpts and casts from his rural Minnesota studio/foundry. He has specialized in cast bronze sculpture for the past 15 years.
