The 2007 Treasure Hunt rabbit has been found!!

Here's some background on the 2007 clues and location:

Treasure Hunt committee member Margaret Craig points to the location in the poplar tree where the rabbit was located -- about 28 paces up the paved path from the center of the huge stump.

Hunters searching. The rabbit is in that tree.

2007 Treasure Hunt Clues and Comments:

1. Circular shapes. Yes, they are round.
Many in our neighborhood can be easily found.
Finding the right ones,
Pay close attention.
For the rabbit's in the area
Of one we mention.
This hunt's theme is circular shapes.
2. Circle number one is big and paved,
For special use it is always saved.
Fourteen is a number you'll probably see,
And east of this circle you'll find a T.
The bus turn-around at the end of Bloomington Ave at 54th. The no. 14 bus runs on Bloomington. East of this circle is the T where 54th runs into Nokomis Parkway.
3. Our second circle is flat and in the ground,
Just past the T we hope you found.
You're at the right one when you turn around
and look up the street that's Pearl Park bound.
Manhole cover just beyond the curb. 54th street runs directly to Pearl Park in the other direction.
4. A close-by circle is also flat.
It's dark and round. Know where you're at?
If you followed directions to a T,
You're 7 paces from a path to glee.
A second manhole cover within sight of the first. It's 7 paces to the path. By now it should clear that you are on the path leading to Nokomis.
5. Stroll eastwards to another T.
The path points to water and is totally free.
North at the T, 370 you're pacing.
A pleasant circle for sitting, each other you're facing.
When you get to the T (path around the lake), go left 370 paces to find the dirt path leading to the square sitting stones arranged in a circle.
6. Our next circle is similar but far away.
Return to the T and go the opposite way.
Up a little dirt path, you'll probably say,
"Just like the other! Am I here to stay?"
The other stone sitting circle is quite a ways south of the T. Not easy to see from the paved path, you need to look for the tiny dirt path leading to the circle.
7. Maybe yes, maybe no. That's up to you,
Because there's a circle in almost every clue.
The circle center is what you need.
28 paces therefrom, take heed.
The little rabbit is hanging, we'll tell you now.
And when you find it, you'll say "wow!"
This clue provides a relatively specific distance from the center of the circle. But it intentionally tells you it may or may not be the current circle.
8. 16 paces around, up a ways from the last one,
this circle is very old and weighs more than a ton.
Stumped? Time to rest those weary feet.
And there's a bench to have a seat.
The huge, nearby stump is old and obviously very heavy. The circumference of its circular trunk is about 16 paces. If you took 28 paces southward up the (paved) path from this stump, you would be at the tree where the rabbit is hanging.
9. While sitting on the bench, just turn your head,
to see the circle about which you've already read.
Find the center, and on the path stay southerly,
Then around to the back of that big green tree.
The only circle you can see when sitting on the bench is the last one, the stump. There are no other paths around the stump other than the paved path. Whatever may have looked like a path was merely treasure hunters trampling the foliage. Go up 28 paces and you're at the tree. Walk around to the back side (from the path), and that's where the rabbit was.

We hope everyone enjoyed participating in the treasure hunt. Please join us again next year.
